The Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management
Tourism with its major component of hospitality is the world’s single largest industry of the day. Millions are employed across the world in this industry. Bangladesh’s tourism and hospitality industry is in its nascent stage and yet a burgeoning one. The country with its heart-throbbing natural beauty, history and teeming hospitable millions and its booming economy holds out needs and opportunities of a great tourism and hospitality industry.
Prompted by and taking these facts into consideration, The People’s University of Bangladesh, one of the first ones in the private sector of the country, founded a full-fledged Department called ‘The Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management’ in the faculty of Business.
Having considered all relevant aspects and evaluating prospects, needs and demands of human resources for the field, both at home and abroad, PUB has introduced a BSc (Hons.) undergraduate program in Tourism and Hospitality Management. It is a full length 4-year program consisting of 8 (eight) semesters.
